Glossary

An action barrier is when an activity hits a boundary and cannot proceed further: the action is blocked by the boundary. Action barriers are always manifested through signals – boundary signals that are in turn manifested emotionally in people, for example through feelings such as fear, shame, anger and sadness. Resignation as an inner state of mind is often the result of a non-yielding action barrier. And action barriers are always to be found if organisations reach their limits.
