Glossary

The term ‘management coaching’ conceals a high level of target-oriented intensity. Each coaching session pursues a beneficial goal. The link with self-leadership, where it has not yet occurred, also forms part of the coaching programme, as it is unnecessarily difficult to manage others if you can’t first manage yourself, and that’s something you pay for with your own health. Awareness of how you deal with restrictive influential factors in the environment is another aspect of management coaching, as it enables managers to win back lost leadership. Coaching sessions build on managerial potential and are therefore less about training than about support for the further development of leadership behaviour from the inside out.
