Communication is more than just language
Identical twins have the same communication skills as everyone else, just that everything is far more evident.
Communication starts in the womb; and while single babies are still related to themselves, identical twins are already communicating actively with each other.
This is shown in a language that is specific to twins. It is barely if at all comprehensible to the outside world, but they themselves can sense how the other twin is, regardless of whether he or she is in the next room or on the other side of the globe.
Perceptions as the language of relationships: their condition and state
Abstracting this knowledge from the identical twins situation means that:
We can perceive relevant incidents in teams and among employees, colleagues and line managers and integrate this perception into our leadership work.
These perceptions provide information about the state people are in, and about the synergies, resonances and dissonances in the environment.
Taking this thought a step further, this perception is the continuation of verbal communication. It is communication about unstated conditions and the assessment of unconsciously received signals.
Taking things another step further, we are continually sending people outward signals and managers pick up on them, often unconsciously. Managers are therefore receiving lots of information that is important for their decisions. Synergies e.g. in teams that are hindering goals can therefore be noted early and immediately remedied.
Using intuition as the mediator of perceived signals
Non-twins like to call this type of communication intuition. For twins, this intuition is often an integral part of communication.
My invitation to you is to become aware of your intuition and to understand it as part of your language. This offers you short cuts, leading you quicker to decisions that could be made on the basis of your perception.
